Just something she threw on: Charlize Theron arrived for the Mad Max: Fury Road photo call during the second day of the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday in a daring leather little black dress
Flirt with fringing this summer like Charlize
The Cannes Film Festival 2015 is in full swing and already the glamour has been on point.
From Sienna Miller in Lanvin to Naomi Watts in Elie Saab and Karlie Kloss in Versace to Natalie Portman in Christian Dior, the designer labels are racking up and we can't wait to see what the next few days have in store.
Leading the pack today is Charlize Theron who attended the Mad Max photo call wearing a runway look from Valentino's AW15 collection. There's a lot going on in this dress - sheer polka dots, leather, fringing, a pussy bow - but thanks to the genius of the luxury labels' creative duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli it all comes together seamlessly.
Of course, as it's next season it isn't available to buy just yet but if you just have to have some Valentino in your life (don't we all) then click (right) to check out the current line at Net-a-Porter.
Or get the look right now with our edit below. We love The Kooples' dress with lace insert and fringing or go for leather and suede by Iro. Style with high heel sandals and your Cannes-worthy look is complete.
The 39-year-old cut a very youthful figure at the daytime promotional event, her blonde tresses tied back in a slick, chic little ponytail, allowing her eye-catching ensemble to steal the show.
The part-leather and part-sheer fabric dress from the Valentino autumn/winter 2015-16 collection - was cut loose in a shift style on her toned, lean figure, but thanks to the daring short hemline, she was able to reveal a fair amount of skin.
Giving it a slightly country and western tilt, the item appeared to be held together with patches of black embroidered fabric.
An interesting and certainly directional look - not often seen at Cannes, which is usually all about the classic glamour - Charlize's dress included a heavy amount of leather fringing across the sleeves and skirt.
Fringe benefits: As well as her endless and impossibly lean legs being on display, the most eye-catching part of Charlize's look was the heavy amount of leather tassels across the unique Valentino garment
Edgy look: It was a departure for the usually classically-dressed 39-year-old, who appeared more youthful than ever
Hi there! Looking suddenly coy, the Hollywood beauty gave a shy wave to the hundreds of onlookers and photographers gathered around the area
Feeling warm? It was a hot sunny day in the south of France, and Charlize's edgy dress was made of thick, sturdy materials
Everywhere's a catwalk: The Oscar-winning star cut a divine figure as she walked up to the plinth to take her spot
Playing up for the cameras: With a huge grin on her naturally pretty face, the star waved and posed in a variety of ways
Natural beauty: The blonde bombshell looked more youthful than ever, thanks to her glowing skin, wide smile and fun and fresh hairstyle
Their time to shine: Charlize was joined by Mad Max co-stars Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult, as well as the film's director George Miller
She sheer material on her neckline added another sexy element to the look, while the bow tied around her neck added a niche detail to the aesthetic.
The Hollywood beauty kept the rest of her photo call ensemble simple, with just a pair of towering strappy heels on her feet and tiny items of subtle jewellery.
She looked in great spirits as she made her way to the plinth on the famous Croisette of the South of France town, which sees Hollywood's finest descend upon it every May for the film festival.
The sun was shining on Cannes as the second day kicked off, hours ahead of the official Mad Max premiere on Thursday evening.
Leading lady... and men! Charlize was flanked by her handsome British co-stars Tom and Nicholas, each who looked handsomely suave in their suits
Gorgeous co-stars: The trio certainly looked far better than they do in the garish film
Leggy display: There's no denying that the actress - who stars as Imperator Furiosa in the Mad Max sequel - has legs to die for
Take a bow: At one point, Charlize held her hands together as in in prayer, while lapping up the scenes around her
Impressive scenes: Charlize had no qualms or showed no nervousness as she posed in front of hundreds during the second day of the iconic film festival
Stunning display: Every turn of Charlize's dress gave onlookers a viewing of her famous pins, elongated with a pair of strappy black heels
And although it's fair to say Charlize stole the show at the promotional event, she allowed her co-stars to shine as they took part in their shoot.
The beauty was joined by fellow Mad Max stars Nicholas Hoult, Tom Hardy and the film's director George Miller.
The foursome beamed as they posed in front of the iconic white stand, emblazoned with the name of the 11-day long movie event.
Handsome Brit actor Nicholas, 25, looked like a breath of fresh air and as cool as a cucumber in a slick charcoal-coloured suit and undone white shirt.
He added to his handsomeness with a smattering of fetching light stubble across his face.
High hopes: Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film in the popular franchise and, after debuting at Cannes out of competition, will be released in cinemas in the UK and the US on May 15
Sashaying gracefully: The fringing on the Valentino dress allowed Charlize extra movement as she walked
Designer details: All eyes were no doubt on the unique Valentino frock that Charlize chose to wear on the day
Dapper gent: Brit star Tom looked handsome and rugged with his shaved head and beard while wearing an Alexander McQueen suit in navy
Having fun? The director seemed to be giving tips to the photographers as the foursome continued posing
The obligatory back shot: The actors were seen getting close for snaps as they had their arms around each other
Meanwhile, leading man Tom, 37, looked every inch the typical Hollywood hard-man with his shaved head, heavier beard and slick Alexander McQueen suit over his bulky physique.
As the foursome posed for snaps, Charlize continued to work her dress to the fullest, towering over two of the gentlemen beside her with her legs looking more flawless than ever.
Not present for the Mad Max: Fury Road photo call were a collection of the film's other stars, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough and Zoe Kravitz, among others.
Taking it all in: Surrounded by hundreds of fans and photographers, the cast and director spent a while drinking in the atmosphere
Hugs! As she arrived, Charlize was seen hugging a male friend before positioning herself in front of the world's press
Working it: Tom takes on the lead role of "Mad" Max Rockatansky in the high-octane movie
Doing their duty: As well as the red carpet premieres, Cannes is famed for its photo calls
Mr Aviator: Tom had arrived under flashes of camera bulbs, looking devilishly handsome in his oversized shades
Oscar-winner Charlize takes on the role of Imperator Furiosa - a warrior with a shaved head and prosthetic arm, attempting to rescue a harem of wives held captive by a warlord - in the much anticipated post-apocalyptic film.
'When people first started talking about this film, this loud whisper went around town that George was looking to create a female character that can stand next to Max and carry the journey with him,' she said in a recent interview.
'For a female actress, that always sounds intriguing. Look, we hear it all the time and very few filmmakers see that through.'
Time to talk: The cast and members of the film crew - including the producers - then took part in the official press conference for the movieFocu
Focused: Leading lady Charlize made sure she was well prepared ahead of the barrage of questioning
Hamming it up! Both Charlize and Tom appeared to be having a whale of a time as they giggled and mucked about at the press event
Superstar: This is one of Nicholas Hoult's biggest roles since appearing in the most recent X-Men movies
After debuting at Cannes out of competition, the movie will be released in the US and UK on May 15.
Charlize had arrived in the gorgeous seaside town via Nice Airport earlier in the week with her son Jackson, and seemed to enjoy a few days of relaxation in the sun before the hard work begun.
And on Wednesday, she was joined by Hollywood leading man and her doting boyfriend Sean Penn as she took part in interview's ahead of the action film's release.
Also doing her bit during the second day of Cannes was the beautiful and talented Salma Hayek.
The 48-year-old actress looked stunning a figure-hugging floral red and black dress, which emphasised her tiny waist and showcased her curvy derriere, as she posed at the photo call for her new flick The Tale of Tales.
With her long brown hair loose around her shoulders, killer heels to add to her diminutive frame and some added bling in the form of her wedding and engagement rings, Salma looked every inch the Hollywood star.
Dressed to impress: Salma Hayek attended a photocall for her new movie The Tale of Tales on Thursday, but it was the actress rather than the flick which got people talking
Royalty: The movie stars Salma as as a childless queen who is willing to do anything to conceive, along with Vincent Cassel, Toby Jones and John C. Reilly as three troubled kings
The movie is an English-language, special effects-driven fantasy which stars Salma as as a childless queen who is willing to do anything to conceive, along with Vincent Cassel, Toby Jones and John C. Reilly as three troubled kings.
Loosely adapted from 17th century fairy tales, it promises the sight of Salma eating the heart of a beast.
One of the members of the star-heavy Cannes jury - Sienna Miller - was also seen making her way through the town on the second day of the festival.
And gorgeous actress Lupita Nyong'o, 32, who had also made a dramatic red carpet display on Wednesday night, was seen relaxing at her hotel in a crisp white dress with pals while soaking up the sunshine.
Another day, another lovely outfit: Juror Sienna Miller, 33, stepped out on Thursday in a nautical striped dress with suede mules

The Oscar-winner had dazzled in a green Gucci flowing gown at the opening ceremony, but looked far more relaxed and summer-ready on Thursday.
Supermodel Miranda Kerr was also out and about, wowing in a dazzling glitzy two-piece ensemble as she arrived for the Magnum press launch in the afternoon.
The 32-year-old Australian soaked up the atmosphere as she signed autographs for fans while showing off her impeccable figure.

Making his way into the elegant French town was British actor Jack O'Connell, who arrived on Thursday around midday.
The BAFTA-winning actor looked very casual in a white shirt with a cigarette in his mouth as he pulled his luggage through the terminal.
Also getting involved in the action during the day were the cast of Chinese action-adventure film, The Ghouls.
Long flight? British actor Jack O'Connell arrived in the south of France on Thursday, and clearly needed his nicotine fix after the journey
